In the last five years, KCSI has flown the equivalent of 29 trips to the Moon without incident. That’s 280 laps around the Earth’s equator.

Achieving this level of safety comes from KCSI’s “World Class” safety management, operations, maintenance, and quality assurance programs. All employees are empowered with Stop Work Authority; our Safety Management System is active and utilized; KCSI is audit friendly and welcomes external auditors as an opportunity for continual improvement.

We have a fleet of over 35 aircraft and can service across the United States with facilities and crews positioned nationwide to ensure seamless coverage and rapid response.

Shane Ellis

Director of Operations 

Shane has been the Director of Operations for KCSI Aerial Patrol, Inc., since 2002. He graduated from California State University, Bakersfield, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in Marketing/Finance. His focus on qualified pilots, quality aircraft, and unsurpassed customer service has grown KCSI into its current dynamic operation. Shane aims to provide superior fixed-wing aerial patrols with zero accidents and competitive rates. 

Bryan Chapman

Chief Pilot 

Bryan has over 5,000 hours of Commercial Single and Multi-Engine flight experience. As a Chief Pilot, Bryan oversees KCSI’s pilot and observer staff operating over 35 aircraft. He brings 25 years of previous management and customer service experience to KCSI to ensure smooth operations and guide KCSI to exceed customer expectations. As a third-generation pilot, Bryan has restored antique aircraft, built and flown his RV-4, and is currently nearing completion of an Acrosport II biplane. 

Adrian Camacho

Director of Safety and Lead Mapping Pilot

Adrian is committed to KCSI’s uncompromised dedication to safety and holds both Commercial and Flight Instructor certificates. Adrian joined KCSI in 2021 and has over 2000 hours of Commercial flight experience. Adrian leads KCSI’s Safety Management and Quality Assurance Systems with the full backing of KCSI’s leadership and employees. He prioritizes safety as the organization’s top commitment, helping to ensure that KCSI Aerial Patrol ranks among the safest patrol companies in the world. Adrian is also KCSI’s lead pilot for aerial mapping, including LiDAR, Hyperspectral, Methane, and Thermal Imagery. In his spare time, Adrian is an accomplished hunting guide.

Chris Cottrell

Director of Maintenance 

With over 20 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, Chris holds both FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) and Inspection Authorization (I.A.) licenses. He brings to KCSI a wealth of expertise gained from his role as Maintenance Director, overseeing operations in Part 135, corporate charter, international aerial data collection, and general aviation (Part 91). He has experience maintaining aircraft ranging in complexity from single-engine pistons to turbine twins to Gulfstreams to DC-10s. He understands the value and safety provided by quality maintenance and the ramifications when maintenance is performed poorly. He strives to provide safe and reliable aircraft to limit downtime in the field. 

Tracy Brown

Chief Financial Officer 

Tracy has been the Chief Financial Officer of KCSI since 2011. In 1999, she graduated from the School of Business and Public Administration at California State University, Bakersfield, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration— Accounting. Tracy received her CPA license in 2003 and joined KCSI with more than six years of oil and gas accounting experience. 

Winston Seiler

Director of Business Development and Aerial Mapping 

Winston joined KCSI in 2017. As a former petroleum geologist, Winston brings 10 years of oil and gas experience, expertise in remotely sensed data, project management, and the value that KCSI services provide to its customers. Winston holds both Commercial and CFI certificates and a master’s degree in Geology from the University of Utah. He is the Chairman of the HSAC Aerial Observation Committee and aerial pipeline patrol industry safety group and previously held the Director of Safety role at KCSI. 

Pilot and Observers 

KCSI patrol pilots and observers are committed to providing our customers with the safest, most efficient patrol inspection possible. Pilots and observers are FAA DOT tested and Operationally Qualified (OQ) for each client. KCSI pilots and observers are trained and dedicated to the safety of each flight, the accurate reporting of conditions on the ground, and efficient aerial data collection.
